Since 2020, Dr Persephone has taught exclusively online and has found that online tutoring offers significant advantages over in-person instruction. Advances in technology have made virtual teaching seamless and highly effective; for many students, it’s now the preferred way to learn.

Homework assignments, past papers, essays, diagrams, and images can all be uploaded instantly, providing a rich and flexible classroom environment. Groups consist of two, three or four students. Sessions are kept small to ensure every student receives individual attention.

Yes — many students book with friends or classmates. If you don’t have a group, contact Dr Persephone and she can try to match you with students of a similar level and subject.

Yes, within reason. Dr Persephone is experienced at managing mixed-ability small groups and ensures every student is supported appropriately.

The curriculum and exam preparation content is the same. Lessons are adapted to suit the group dynamic while still being tailored to each student’s needs.

A laptop, tablet or desktop with a camera, microphone and stable internet connection.
The online classroom contains its own video and whiteboard. If preferred, students can use Facetime for video, while remaining inside the online classroom.

Lessons take place via a private online whiteboard with integrated video and notes. Dr Persephone will send you a link before your first lesson. No specialist software is needed.

You will receive a unique link by email before each lesson. Simply click it at your scheduled time — no account required.

Each lesson is 60 minutes. Longer 90 minute and 2 hour lessons are also available.

Online tuition is typically paid through direct debit at any point ahead of the scheduled lesson. Weekly lessons that are continually late in payment may result in loss of lesson time.

As students or clients may be on a waiting list for a particular day and time, we do ask for at least 12 hours’ notice to cancel a lesson. Unless there are mitigating circumstances, 50% of the lesson fee will be chargeable if there is no reasonable notice or ‘no show’ within 12 hours of the lesson time.

Weekdays between 9:00am and 8:00pm BST. Contact Dr Persephone to arrange a regular slot. Lessons can also be booked through the website.
